Vanda Rozenbergova, figure of a father, man out of pit, children out of love

Abstrakt

In her literary work Vanda Rozenbergova often uses the motif of generational inversion. In her literary texts adult characters often are not adults, as a result of which children characters have no room to be children. The writer frequently uses reverses roles, especially in the way of portraying children as adults, who bear a certain degree of responsibility for their lives and the lives of their loved ones in their surroundings. It is no different in the novel Man out of Pit, Children out of Love, in which the character of the father is portrayed as an antihero, a weirdo who during the day does nothing but sits in a deep couch pit, from which he plays video games. However, the character of a father trapped in a couch pit is also used as a metaphor for the loneliness that the whole family falls into after the tragic death of the mother.
