Abstract

When analyzing Polish-Ukrainian relations in the aspect of regional security, it is worth paying attention to military cooperation between the two states. This cooperation began when the bipolar system disappeared and Ukraine regained its independence. The article evaluates Polish-Ukrainian military cooperation in four chronological periods covering its beginnings, actions undertaken in the course of the participation of both countries in the Partnership for Peace program, cooperation from the moment of Poland’s accession to NATO to Russian aggression to Ukraine, as well as the period after 2014. The article discusses the factors influencing Polish-Ukrainian military cooperation after 1991, offers an assessment of its most important constituent elements and proposes a brief insight into its possible developments in this field in the near future.
