Abstract

Politics greatly influenced Teffi`s (1872-1952) fate because his life coincided with major world events. He knew Rasputin, Lenin and some Socialists personally. After the October Revolution he left for the West with other Russian emigrants of "the first wave". He lived and died in Paris.
