Characteristics of veterans' organizations in the perspective of identity on the example of Morąg and the surrounding area. Part I

Abstract

The aim of the text is to characterize veterans' organisations from Morąg and the surrounding area and the conditions of the settlement as one of the main factors shaping organizational identity. The analysis is based on the chronicles and documents of the local branches of the veterans’ associations and the war invalids association, as well as the veterans' biographies. The features of these organisations and the identities associated with them are presented. The determinants of migration and settlement of members of the veterans' associations, the value of the military and the war past, are also discussed.
