The aim of the text is to attempt to describe the process of heritage formation in Olsztyn and Warmia and Mazury since 1945. The context is created by a change of nationality and a significant exchange of population and the activities of organisations and offices. It is assumed that cultural heritage is the result of interactions, bonds and values, occurring during an encounter. Invitations to cultural events from the collections of the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn were analysed. The assumption is that included the information contained in the invitations, such as the occasions and themes of the meetings, their initiators and participants, constitute the indicators of the characteristics of the current shape of heritage. The interaction spaces chosen for the analysis include social gatherings, anniversaries of public figures and organisations in the region, and public holidays.
