Aims and scope:
DOCTRINA is a scientific journal which covers the issues of social sciences and humanities issued by the Institute of Security Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Siedlce. The issued papers relate to the broad political science, security studies, political and social philosophy as well as sociology of politics. The texts sent to the editorial office address are directed to the external review (after the opinion on the paper usefulness expressed by Thematic Editors and, possibly, by the Scientific Council), which conditions the release.
DOCTRINA – the editors do not pay the fees. Full texts are published in the electronic version on the website of the journal and, additionally, they are available in the database index. Publication in Doctrina is APC free.
History:
The journal "Doctrina. Studia Społeczno-Polityczne" (Doctrina. Social and Political Journal) has been in existence for over 20 years. The first issue was published in 2004. At that time, it was titled "Doctrina. Międzynarodowy Przegląd Humanistyczny" (Doctrina. International Review of the Humanities) in 2006, it was changed to "Doctrina. Studia Społeczno-Polityczne". The publisher was the Institute of Social Sciences (currently the Institute of Security Studies) of the Faculty of Humanities (currently the Faculty of Social Sciences) of the University of Podlasie (from 2010 to 2023, the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, and from October 1, 2023, the University of Siedlce). The 22 issues to date have comprised 6,523 pages of analyses and scholarly reflections. A total of 509 materials have been published in the journal, including 340 articles, 118 reviews and review articles, 42 reports, 8 pro memoria, and 1 translation. Of these texts, 401 were in Polish and 108 in foreign languages. 85 materials have foreign affiliations. 317 authors have already shared the results of their research. Among them, 88 are affiliated with our University. The remainder are from 68 national centers and institutions, and 43 operating abroad. Our 84 foreign authors represent 15 countries.
Since the beginning of the magazine, the editors-in-chief have been: Wojciech Słomski (2004-2005), Czesław Szafran (2006-2007), Stanisław Jaczyński (2008-2019), Adam Bobryk (since 2020). Various members of the editorial team included or currently include: Adam Bobryk, Wiktoria Borecka, Aldona Borkowska, Olga Burdakova, Mariusz Ciszek, Paweł S. Czarnecki, Lana Dalinczuk, Marlena Drygiel-Bielińska, Beata Gałek, Pál Attila Illés, Diana Ivanova, Cezary Kalita, Elena Konovaluk, Hubert Królikowski, Uladzimir Liaushuk, Małgorzata Lipińska-Rzeszutek, Katarzyna Łaskarzewska, Izabela Kochan, Agnieszka Kołodziejak (editorial internship), Daria Krzewniak, Elżbieta Kuzborska-Pacha, Inessa Morozova, Robert Ptaszek, Kristiina Silvan, Elżbieta Szczygielska, Paweł Szmitkowski, Józef Szymeczek, Renata Tarasiuk, Maciej Tołwiński, Anna Uryadova, Bernard Wrzaszcz-Tkaczyk, Oksana Zelena. The cover design has been done by Mieczysław Legus since 2009. The editorial work is supported by the Scientific Council operating in the following years under the chairmanship of: Piotr Matusak (2004-2005), Stanisław Jaczyński (2006-2010), Olgierd Cetwiński (2011-2012), Zofia Chyra-Rolicz (2013-2018), Stanisław Jaczyński (2019), Stanisław Topolewski (since 2020).
