Abstrakt

Mackiewicz's novels interpretation has been carried out with the help of concepts and categories born on the basis of postcolonial theory, M. Foucault's discourse theory and research on social opinions and expectations. An important reference point for the Mackiewicz’s novel was the political context, which was formed after World War II, and the discourse cultivated by the victors of this war. Mackiewicz was convinced that the discourse about the Second World War became the property of the vitors and the fate of "small nations" Central and Eastern Europe was presented with their point of view.Opposition to the narrative hegemony of dominant and powerful discourse of victors has become an important ideological and ethical assumption of the novel Mackiewicz. In this article I show, how a writer strategy consisting of a merger of objective historical narration and literary fiction produces a new quality statement, which I define as Mackiewicz’s discourse against it, which is in opposition to the discourses dominating at that time.
