Abstract

The issue of the functioning of a child with experience of family dysfunction in the school environment, as well as the forms of their support, thus constitutes an important area of pedagogical reflection and educational practice. It requires taking into account both environmental conditions and the individual needs of the child, as well as undertaking actions aimed at minimizing the effects of adverse experiences and strengthening their developmental potential. The theoretical aim of the article is to analyze the multifaceted effects of growing up in a dysfunctional family and to show the role of the school and the teacher as important entities supporting the child's development and functioning. Particular attention is directed to the conditions of the student's development and the possibilities of compensa-ting for environmental deficits in the context of selected pedagogical theories and concepts.
