The aim of the article is to explain how participation in the securitization process led to the growth of the importance of think tank-type expert centers in Po-land. For the purposes of the article, the case study methodology was used and qualitative research (participant observation, analysis of media discourse) was carried out. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that the outbreak of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war led to an increase in public interest in the problems of national and international security. This allowed us to formulate a hypothesis that thanks to the cooperation with the media in the securitization process, think tank organizations had gained influence on the public debate in Poland. A complementary hypothesis is the claim that the strengthening of the participation of think tanks in the securitization process was also due to the development of social media, which enabled the creation of new communication platforms. As a result, think tanks in a country like Poland, despite the lack of funds and the lack of full-time expert teams, gained numerous new functions. The model of functioning of think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe is subject to changes and is becoming similar to American models described in the scientific literature of the 21st century, but it retains its own specificity.
