The role and place of culture in the process of con-structing the idea of ethnopedagogy

Abstract

The guiding idea of the presented considerations is culture understood as the substrate of all activities allowing for manifesting and defining human ethnic identity. The article also addresses the issue of ethnopedagogy, analyzed through the prism of the contemporary socio-political space and the dynamic national and ethnic processes taking place within it. The author notices the possibility of entering the dialogue with ’the other‘ in the mutual acceptance of shared value systems by all parties involved, as well as in educational and artistic activities that facilitate cognition and understanding of the specificity of various types of otherness.
