Abstract

The security policy of France is closely related to the diagnosis of the strategic environment. Anticipation, as well as prevention of the development of security threats and early response to crisis situations, are actions that should be taken appropriately to the situation. Therefore, the French policy reflects reactivity to changes in the security environment and its systematic review. However, many dependencies in the contemporary security policy of the Republic have remained unchanged. This is evidenced, for example, by references to Charles de Gaulle’s political concepts in current activities for state security. The purpose of this article is to point out the changes that have occurred in French security policy as a result of the Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2022. The changes have not changed the foundations of this policy but have undoubtedly introduced the need for reflection and change in some areas.
