Municipal waste management in the light of law on the various levels of government

Prognosis indicato that the amount of municipal waste in Poland (especially in cities)
is growing rapidly and many soon exeed the European average. Communal wastes in our country are far from typical waste European Union, so the way to deal with them should be adapted
to local conditions. In Poland, the main law order the subject related to waste management is
the Act from April 2001, with an emphasis is the hierarchical set of activities, namely: prevention, removal and utilization of waste for storage and disposal included.The Act imposes an obligation on the country of the National Economic Plan for waste management, which must be
updated at least every six years. Waste management planning at the municipal level has to take
into account the morphological changes of wastes that will have an impact on the efficiency of
treatmemt and cost-effectivness of recycling. The main tasks of the community are the organize an efficient system of waste collection with their segregation from property owners. From 1 July 2011 obligate the new Law about the amemdment of the Act to maintain the purity
and order in municipalities and other laws, which imposed on the community a duty of environment protection from municipal waste pollution.
