Corporate bankruptcies in Poland and Ireland in 2007-2010

Abstract

This article provides a comparative analysis of the trends in the volume of corporate bankruptcies in Poland and Ireland in 2007–2010 in the context of the economic situation in these countries during the recent financial crisis. It first discusses the economic performance of Poland and Ireland over these years. Next, the relevant bankruptcy statistics are presented. The article concludes with some remarks on the scale and pace of bankruptcy processes, and how they were affected by the economic situation in Poland and Ireland during the crisis
