Abstract

It is not possible to have an objective look at our history without understanding the phenomenon of Solidarity.
Thanks to this powerful socio-national movement,
our country gained the independence again. For
the first time in our history, this aim was achieved not
by armed struggle but in the process of building the
inner subjectivity of the nation and consistent extension
of areas of freedom. The writing of Solidarity origin
played a role in this process. The content concerning
Solidarity in the historiographic understanding
is very significant. However, it is insufficient. We face
the necessity of finding the antropological, state and
nation-building content in the field of philosophy of
history, included mainly in the Solidarity journalism.
In this great heritage which shapes our cultural integrity
today, there is also an important contribution of
Siedlce writing. We show it by the example of the periodical „Metrum”, published in the years 1983-1989.
