The group of the examined words contains adjectives beneurous, benewred, felicious, gracious, seely and the key item happy. Focusing on their fates in the period under question, the study uses data from the Innsbruck Corpus of Middle English, a collection of 129 Middle English digitised texts, preserved in 159 files, to determine token frequency, text distribution and semantic changes of the examined adjectives. Other sources used in the study are Middle English Dictionary (MED), The Oxford English Dictionary (OED), Historical Thesaurus of English (HTE) and AntConc, a freeware corpus analysis program. The evidence from the Innsbruck Corpus of Middle English Prose shows considerable discrepancies in the token frequency of the analysed terms and the number of attestations employed in the sense ‘happy’. Although the position of the adjective gracious was extraordinarily strong (354 attestations), the termyielded only 13 attestations used in the sense under study. The marginal status of benewred (2 attestations)and lack of beneurous in the Middle English texts examined announce their loss at the end of the period.
Weronika Kaźmierczak Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Obrazy zesłania – "Poezje" Tadeusza Łady-Zabłockiego
The author takes a closer look at the poetic activity of Tadeusz Łada-Zabłocki, who, while in exile, passionately and courageously cultivated literary activity. Presenting an impressive portrait of the exiled poet, she focuses not only on his literary life, but also on his translation work, as a translator of, among other things, communal songs of Transcaucasian Tatars. Łada-Zabłocki is also seen as a protector, promoting young Polish poets and facilitating the publication of their poems.
Joanna Klausa-Wartacz Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Język odziedziczony a język przodków na pograniczach
In this article, I will deal with the issues of the in herited language and the language of ancestors in the Ukrainian-Romanian, Ukrainian-Moldavian and Ukrainian-Russian borderlands. The aim of this article is to show the sociopolitical influences on the transmission of the language in Polish families. Examples of the use, language transmission and learning of the Polish language in the aforementioned border lands will be shown as an example. The criteria for defining Polish as the ancestral language or the language inherited by the interlocutors emerged during the analysis of the linguistic biographies of my interlocutors. These theoretical considerations were based on practical material. The inheritance of the Polish language of two interlocutors was influenced, among others, by being born in a Polish family, close neighborhood, which also spoke Polish; maintaining Polish traditions; practicing religion. The lack of transmission of the Polish language among the interviewee, who was born in the Luhansk region, was due to the fact that her parents did not speak Polish, the father hid his Polish origin, fear of repression and de-portation, living in an urban environment, and lack of contacts with people of Polish origin. This interlocutor started to learn the Polish language as an adult as the language of her new identity, and what is very important, she instilled in children and grandchildren a sense of Polish identification.
Helena Krasowska Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Tożsamość narodowa, nacjonalizm, patriotyzm – sposoby rozumienia, dyferencje, przejawy
Reflections on categories used for social identification are closely related to building one's own identity, including national identity. A special role in this process are playing the concepts of homeland and little homeland, as well as expressed attitudes. These concepts form a sense of belonging to the place and community, with their history, culture, language, customs, rituals, values, communication habits, etc. With regard to the expressed attitudes, two of them are of significant importance – nationalistic and patriotic. Many theories have been developed around them and their understanding is often associated with multithreading and difficulties in interpretation and classification. Especially important is that these attitudes should be based on mutual respect, tolerance and acceptance, mostly towards other nations, no matter these attitudes were called. Only attitudes based on mutual respect, tolerance and acceptance can ensure security and freedom in future. Therefore, it is important to teach the proper understanding of them in the process of education with its upbringing aspect. This teaching can prevent antagonism towards other nations, societies, or cultures.
Natalia Majchrzak Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Концепт ДОМОВИНА у српском језику (на системском материјалу)
The paper presents the results of comprehensive research on the concept of HOME in the Serbian language based on the analysis of system material from the relevant dictionaries of the Serbian language, in accordance with the methodological and theoretical principles of Lublin cognitive ethnolinguistics and the EUROJOS seminar. An effort was made to present its main features and values in the circle of related concepts we reconstructed in our previous research, with which it forms a common concept sphere: HOME, MOTHER, PEOPLE and the self-stereotype of SERBIAN. The research in this paper is primarily based on the analysis of the content of the dictionary definitions of the lexemes homeland and fatherland, which are used to name the concept, and the analysis of all their characteristic lexical-semantic relationships: hyperonimic and hyponymic, synonymy, antonymy, derivational, creative and semantic character, syntagmatic with the aim of reconstructing the content of this term, its stable and variable part, with all relevant aspects of realization. Also, to highlight different models of man's relationship to his homeland in different historical periods and the values attributed to him in the Serbian language, in accordance with the principles of cognitive definition.
Stana Ristić, Ivana Lazić-Konjik Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Błędy w zapisie fonemów samogłoskowych języka polskiego
The article approaches the subject of spelling errors made in notation of vowel phonemes of the Polish language. The focus group consisted of Polish teenagers aged 15 or 16 years who were asked to produce a sample writing in the form of an argument and to write a dictation, devised by the author himself. The article comprises four parts: the introduction, the typology of spelling errors, the description of spelling errors seen from the perspective of phoneme-grapheme correspondences, and the discussion part. Most of the collected errorscollected were of orthographic (phonetically correct) or morphological type, depending on the chosen classification. Of the gathered material, substituting the ę grapheme with e in the ę - /ɛ/ word-final position (such as Ja chcę – eng. ‘I want’) was the most prevalent pattern. Other errors concerned mainly: incorrect spellings of the /u/ phoneme (especially in a context where the ó grapheme does not alternate with the o grapheme), wrong spellings of the ął, ęł, ęl, and en biphonematic group (as in wziął, wzięła, wzięli, argument), as well as confusing the om and ą graphemes in their word-final position (e.g. kolegom, kolegą eng. ‘a friend’ respectively in its dative and ablative grammar case).
Jakub Solecki Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Общение как (не)вербальное поведение
The article describes the antinomy of communicative activity and communication. The behavioral essence of (non-) verbal communication, its uniqueness and creative nature are proved; dominant continuum characteristics of verbal negotiation and conditions for their implementation are described. Impersonal nature of communication is opposed to the egocentric properties of communicative activity. Ethological essence of communication is postulated – its connection with linguistic ethos. The most important ethological characteristics of verbal communication are considered: motivation, appellativeness, reasonableness, relevance, arbitrality, devotion.
Wasilij Sienkiewicz Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Człowiek a prawda. The analysis of the Polish paremies against the background of other Slavic languages reveals a two-way relationship: truth in relation to man and man in relation to truth. It allows for the reconstruction of: in connection with man; being in harmony with the truth and being inconsistent with the truth in the dimension of correlating a person with the truth.
Włodzimierz Wysoczański Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000 O języku biegaczy nieprofesjonalnych
-
Małgorzata Klauze-Garbowska Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 Conversatoria Linguistica Fri, 09 Dec 2022 00:00:00 +0000
